WILDCAT WILL BLANCHARD

Pop Art meets collage artist, Wildcat Will (William Blanchard) initially abandoned his art path for rock ’n’ roll as the drummer of bands that include the Sandals, Shakespeare’s Sister, Beth Orton and Death in Vegas amongst many others for almost two decades. Then, after being introduced to graffiti and street art, and working with Ben Eine - Will became inspired by those using the street as their canvas. He then swiftly moved in to collage works and assemblages,producing his own type of Pop Art fused with Surrealism and a Punk Rock do-it-yourself ethic. As a non-conformist self taught outsider artist, his surreal assemblages and nods to pop culture span from the 60s counterculture through Punk to the present day, in bright, colourful works, often littered and glittered with diamond dust and psychedelia.
